Although it's already appeared on thousands of other blogs by now, Keith Olbermann's response to the passage of Prop 8 in California is worth repeating as many times at it takes for his point to sink in...

I have been away from blogging for a bit - enraged by the hideousness of the election, the untruths spread supposedly in the name of God (breaking one of Those Commandments these people keep talking about), and the insanity I've heard over same-sex marriage.

In all the shouting, this is the first voice of sanity, rationality and compassion I've heard. Thank you so very much for restoring my faith in at least a bit of humanity...I was beginning to despair a bit.

It does however, conveniently gloss over what God demands of people.

The "universal love" nonsense perpetuated by people who would rather be their own gods, obeying only themselves, is one of the greatest fallacies in modern Christianity.

And this dude needs Jesus.
